Meningococcal B dose logic

This article outlines the interim workflow to address a noted Men B dosing logic issue

Updated over 10 months ago

Dosing logic exists within Vitavo to calculate whether a child requires two or three doses of Meningococcal B vaccine depending on when Dose 1 was administered (before or after 12 months of age).

At this stage however, the system cannot read a client's AIR history at the time of booking and therefore a single use case exists that causes a lapse in this logic.

Where Dose 2 is administered via Vitavo after 12 months of age AND where Dose 1 was not administered on Vitavo and was given prior to 12 months of age.

In this scenario, Vitavo logic will determine that only 2 doses are required (because it cannot read when Dose 1 was administered) and Meningococcal B will subsequently disappear from the booking flow due to the system assuming the course is complete.

In order to prompt Vitavo to show Meningococcal B in the booking flow for Dose 3 in this scenario, please use the following workflow:

Client Profile > Add Vaccine > Previous Vaccination > add the details of Dose 1 of Meningococcal B > select NO to Send Previous Vaccination to AIR

On completion of the above process, the logic will now recognise that Dose 3 is required, and Meningococcal B will appear in the booking flow again.
